What is an eSIM and why is it perfect for travel?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built into your phone. It does exactly what the classic plastic card does — connect you to mobile networks — but without the card: it installs by scanning a QR code.
eSIM vs. physical SIM for travel
| Aspect | Go2Mondo eSIM | Physical SIM |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery | Instantly via WhatsApp | Physical store or postal shipping |
| Installation | Scan a QR (2 minutes) | Swap the card with a pin tool |
| Your number | You keep it: both coexist | You lose it while traveling |
| Risk of loss | None, it's digital | Tiny cards that get lost |
| Top-ups | In the same chat | Back to the store |
What you need to know
Your phone must be eSIM-compatible (most since 2018-2020 are) and carrier-unlocked.
Travel eSIMs are data-only: WhatsApp, maps, socials and internet calls work perfectly.
Your regular SIM can stay in: you choose which line uses data.
Install over Wi-Fi before the trip and activate on arrival. The plan counts from when it connects at your destination.

More eSIM questions
What is an eSIM?
It's a digital SIM built into your phone. There's no physical card: you receive a QR code, scan it, and your data plan is installed in minutes. You can keep your regular SIM for calls and use the eSIM just for internet.
Is my phone eSIM compatible?
Most recent phones are: iPhone XS or newer, Google Pixel 3 or newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 or newer, among others. It must be carrier-unlocked. If in doubt, send us your model on WhatsApp and we'll confirm right away.
Will I lose my number or my WhatsApp?
No. Your number and WhatsApp keep working exactly the same. The eSIM only provides mobile data; your chats, contacts and apps don't change.
Can I share internet with other devices?
Most plans let you use your phone as a hotspot. We'll confirm it for your specific plan in the chat before you buy.
Do I need to enable data roaming?
Yes, for the eSIM line: that's what lets it connect to networks at your destination. It doesn't create extra charges — the plan already covers everything.
